Inaugural editorial: Statistics Innovation

Statistics Innovation  1 Article number: e001  (2024)  |  Cite this article
  • Many years ago, when I worked at The Pennsylvania State University (USA), my friend, Professor Zong-Ming (Max) Cheng, Chief Editor and founder of Maximum Academic Press invited me to initiate a statistics journal under the sponsorship of his publisher. I was pleased to accept his invitation immediately, because I found that future science cannot exist without data and statistics.

As a cutting-edge, peer-reviewed journal launched by Maximum Academic Press, Statistics Innovation (STATi) publishes new advances in statistical theory, techniques, and methodologies of data analysis to a broad range of physical, life, and social sciences. It provides researchers with in-depth surveys and reviews on timely topics in the field of statistical modeling and data science.

The journal provides a focus for communication among statistical researchers who study quantitative and computational sciences and use them as a tool to understand basic sciences or solve practical problems in social and natural systems. The journal is an international forum for the exchange of novel and significant information gained from empirical and theoretical investigations on the innovation and application of new statistical methodologies. STATi seeks contributions from scholars and scientists from around the world. STATi also welcomes leading experts and experienced researchers to sponsor special issues in their areas.

As the Editor-in-Chief of STATi, I wish to work closely with our editorial advisory board and authors to establish the scientific reputation of the journal and elevate and maintain its international impact in the years to come. Last, but not least, I wish to thank Maximum Academic Press for providing me with such a platform to serve our statistics community and the many editorial assistants for their tireless support of my editorial work.
