Cover Story: Unveiling the Molecular Mysteries of Peanut Peg Development
Researchers have constructed a single-cell resolution transcriptional atlas of peanut pegs, revealing the crucial role of auxin signaling in the development of pegs. By analyzing over 50,000 individual cells, they identified key transcription factors and developmental trajectories associated with aerial and subterranean pegs. This study offers valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying peanut pod formation and provides a resource for future investigations aimed at enhancing peanut productivity.
