Carrying Forward a Glorious Legacy, Targeting the Future

China Pharmaceutical University will celebrate its 90th founding anniversary on November 16, 2026. As the first national pharmaceutical higher education institution in China, its pharmacy discipline has long ranked first nationwide. To mark this grand 90th anniversary, Targetome, the flagship journal of China Pharmaceutical University, officially launches a call for papers under the theme "Carrying Forward a Glorious Legacy, Targeting the Future". We sincerely invite global scholars, alumni and partners to contribute research centered on targetome studies to advance the new journey of global drug discovery and development.

Targetome was founded on September 20, 2025 and is sponsored by China Pharmaceutical University. It is led by Honorary Editors-in-Chief Professor Gregg L. Semenza (2019 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine) and Academician Wang Guangji of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Editors-in-Chief Professor Haiping Hao (President of China Pharmaceutical University) and Academician Frank Kirchhoff of the European Academy of Sciences. The journal has been assigned ISSN (online): 3070-3808 and ISSN (print): 3071-0596.

We welcome submissions covering basic research, technological development and clinical translation of molecular targets, including but not limited to: High-throughput technologies for targetome identification and innovation; AI-driven target discovery; Target-target interactions, signaling network regulation and polypharmacology; Functional validation of novel targets in precision medicine; Targeting strategies for “undruggable” targets; Interdisciplinary target research (development of chemical biology tools, multi-target drug design and delivery, nanotechnology and computational chemistry-assisted target research).
